North Sea Observatory Chapel Point Chapel St. Leonards.

The North Sea Observatory was procured by Lincolnshire County Council. The building marks the being of the Structures on the Edge Art Trail. This includes a series of art installations created by artists and architects which populate a 10 mile stretch of the coastline from Chapel St. Leonards which stretches to Mablethorpe.

The building is located on a sea defence at Chapel Point. The building was designed as an Observatory to view and photograph migrating birds, on their journey up and down the east coast.

In addition to the Observatory there is a gallery where artists can apply for a residence in order to produce work on site and then show in an exhibition. The National Coastwatch Institution also have an office in the building.

At the heart of the building there is a cafe and restaurant which offers a unique perspective of this part of the Lincolnshire Coastline.
